Job Summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Anaplan Senior Model Builder to join our team. In this role, you will support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Anaplan models that drive key business processes. You will work closely with other Architects, the Center of Excellence (COE) Lead, and the Director of Architecture and Development, taking ownership of the models you build and ensuring they meet business needs and adhere to best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Model Development and Maintenance: Assist the Architects, COE Lead, and Director of Architecture and Development in the creation and support of both new and existing Anaplan models.
  • Requirement Understanding and Breakdown: Collaborate with Product Delivery team and Technical team to understand requirements, break features into actionable stories, estimate tasks, and ensure requirements are well-defined before development begins. 
  • Collaboration with Functional Analysts: Work closely with functional analysts to understand the broader business context, test cases, and expected outcomes for Anaplan models.
  • Model Ownership and Best Practices: Take full ownership of your models, ensuring adherence to Anaplan best practices and internal standards, such as Compass Group's Compass standards.
  • Sprint and Grooming Participation: Actively participate in grooming sessions to clarify requirements, plan stories, and ensure tasks are manageable. Estimate stories, subtasks, and tasks in Jira.
  • Code Development and Delivery: Develop Anaplan models on time and with accuracy, ensuring that the code is of high quality and properly aligned with business needs.
  • Testing and Accuracy: Test all code changes for accuracy and completeness before submitting for functional testing.
  • Support for Model Builders: Mentor junior model builders, ensuring they understand the tasks they’re working on, and help them adhere to best practices in Anaplan modeling.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify and communicate risks, delays, and issues to the team and leadership to ensure the smooth execution of development projects.
  • Independent Work and Escalation: Work independently while using the Architect as the first point of escalation for questions regarding architecture or process. Ensure that work is executed with minimal oversight.


Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 2-4 years of hands-on experience with Anaplan, including model development, configuration, and support. Minimum of 3 Anaplan implementations required.
    • Experience with Agile development methodologies, particularly in Scrum, including participation in grooming and sprint planning sessions.
    • Experience in financial modeling, sales planning, or supply chain planning within Anaplan is a plus.

 

  • Skills:
    • Proficient in Anaplan's modeling environment, including lists, modules, dashboards, and workflows.
    • Solid understanding of how to break down business requirements into stories and tasks for development.
    • Proficiency in an Agile tool (e,g, Jira, Anaplan Way app etc.) for story and task estimation, tracking, and reporting.
    • Strong ability to deliver clean, well-tested, and optimized code.
    • Ability to mentor and guide junior model builders in Anaplan best practices.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

 

  • Certifications:
    • Anaplan Certified Model Builder
    • Anaplan Solution Architect and Master Anaplanner certification is a plus but not required.

    • Must be able to work United States Eastern Time Zone hours.
