WKBT News 8 Now, the leading news station in La Crosse, Wisconsin (DMA 129) is seeking a dynamic, full-time Digital Content Producer to join our award-winning team. News 8 Now is committed to delivering vital news and weather information across the digital spectrum and we need a creative and agile digital media expert to help lead the way.

What You’ll Do

• Write and post engaging local news content on all digital platforms, including apps and social media.
• Curate compelling photos and video to drive traffic to News8000.com and News 8 Now social media accounts.
• Respond to breaking news with quick and accurate push alerts and articles and follow-up with posts that reflect critical news updates.
• Monitor social media and other digital accounts to track audience metrics and achieve goals.
• Utilize SEO strategies to increase unique visitors and video starts.
• Assist with the coordination of daily news assignments and monitor field crews to ensure timely delivery of linear and digital assets.

What You’ll Bring

• 4-year degree with an emphasis in Journalism or equivalent preferred.
• Strong understanding of BLOX and demonstrated proficiency in AP Style.
• Knowledge of editorial processes and keen news judgement.
• Ability to work under tight deadline pressure.
• Working knowledge of popular and emerging digital/social media platforms.
• Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
