Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking a Food Production Manager 2 to support our dynamic dining program at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) in New Britain, CT.

CCSU is home to over 10,000 students and features a diverse and engaging dining program—including Memorial Hall Café, the newly opened Hilltop Café, Starbucks, multiple retail venues, and our latest concept, ZIME. This position plays a key leadership role, overseeing production across residential and retail dining venues.

We’re looking for a passionate culinary professional with strong leadership skills and experience in high-volume food service. Union experience and familiarity with collective bargaining agreements is highly preferred.

What You'll Do


  • Oversee daily food production operations for campus dining, including residential and retail venues

  • Lead culinary teams to deliver high-quality, nutritious, and visually appealing meals

  • Maintain Sodexo culinary and safety standards across all units

  • Mentor and train kitchen staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence

  • Manage food and labor costs to meet financial goals and support budget initiatives

  • Partner with front-of-house and retail leaders to enhance the overall customer experience

  • Support strategic planning, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring


  • 2–4 years of experience in food production or culinary management, preferably in contract dining or campus environments

  • Proven leadership and team-building skills in a fast-paced setting

  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and culinary best practices

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Experience working in a unionized environment is strongly preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands

  • Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience is a plus
