Job Description and Duties

Position exists in the Human Resources / Equal Employment Opportunity/Family Medical Leave Act Office at Porterville Developmental Center.

Under the lead of the EEO/FMLA Coordinator, the incumbent performs a variety of general office duties including typing; transcription; mail and document handling; filing and records management; document preparation and review; composition of correspondence; oral communications; statistical and other record keeping; and order and maintaining supplies and equipment. Exposure to highly confidential and/or sensitive material. Regularly performs a variety of the most difficult duties and is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence and originality in performing assigned tasks. Detailed and sensitive contact is required. Incumbent applies knowledge and application of detailed regulations, policies and procedures related to Equal Employment Opportunities and/or the Family Medical Leave Act. Incumbent is expected to consistently exercise good judgement and the ability to communicate effectively.

Typing Certificate must be submitted along with the application by the final filing date.  Applicants must obtain typing certificate on their own. Porterville Developmental Center does not offer or schedule for typing tests.
