The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Columbia Primary Care at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is seeking a Primary Care Nurse III (RN) to join our team. The Primary Care Nurse III will report directly to the Practice Manager or Director of Nursing, Columbia Primary Care. This ambulatory nursing position will serve as a key member of the patient care team to support the pediatric and/or adult populations we serve. The Primary Care Nurse III performs nursing duties consistent with NYS nursing scope of practice related to the support of the day-to-day clinical operations of the assigned practice. These duties include, but are not limited to, medication/immunization administration, point of care testing (POCT), clinical information abstraction, oversight of the practice(s)' infection prevention and control procedures, and patient education that can be in person, via our patient portal, or by phone. This experienced RN will perform telephonic, electronic, and in-person nursing assessments consistent with the NYS nursing scope of practice. The Primary Care Nurse III will participate in or lead population health initiatives within Columbia Primary Care and the wider ColumbiaDoctors organization to address health care gaps and promote positive health outcomes for patients. At this senior level, the Primary Care Nurse III may be asked to travel to all Columbia Primary Care sites to train staff or review processes with staff, providers, and managers. This position will work closely with multiple providers as well as other clinical and administrative staff to deliver an excellent patient experience that contributes to positive health outcomes for patients and a work culture of kindness, collaboration, integrity, accountability, and excellence.
