Job Description

About Column

For companies building financial technology and transforming the financial services space, the biggest bottleneck to their growth and innovation is often the underlying banks and infrastructure stack they rely on. We have spent our careers founding and scaling companies like Plaid, Square, SoFi, Blend, and Affirm, and have seen this problem firsthand — builders and developers needing to partner with traditional banks, and creating API and abstraction layers over the patchwork that is the bank, its core, and many other vendors. All of this results in a complex (and often expensive) banking supply chain involving a user, fintech, BaaS middleware provider, bank, core and the Federal Reserve.

At Column, we set out to simplify and fix this. We are a bank and a software company built from the ground up, offering builders and developers technology-forward banking solutions that cut out the hundreds of vendors, middleware providers, and abstraction layers. This means a safer, more transparent, and less costly banking supply chain. Come build with us!

The opportunity

As Column’s first Recruiting Coordinator, you’ll be the backbone of our talent acquisition efforts. This role combines operational excellence with relationship building to create amazing hiring experiences for candidates and our own hiring teams. You’ll work across all departments to help schedule interviews and support the entire candidate lifecycle - you’ll also have the unique opportunity to establish and refine our recruiting infrastructure during a period of significant growth. Your work will directly impact how we build our team and, by extension, how we deliver against our vision to help our customers build better financial products.

This position will report directly to the Head of People, and the individual in the role must be willing to work in person in our Presidio-based office in San Francisco (3-4 days/week).

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate and schedule all interviews across the company, providing a seamless experience for both candidates and hiring teams (whether in person or remote)

  • Manage the interview process from initial outreach to offer stage, ensuring all candidates receive timely communication and updates

  • Build and maintain a recruiting operations infrastructure that can scale with our company growth

  • Serve as the primary contact for candidates’ questions and concerns throughout the interview process

  • Collaborate with hiring managers and our Recruiters to refine interview processes and maintain up-to-date repositories for job descriptions and interview plans

  • Assist with onboarding preparation for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition from candidate to employee

  • Manage and track metrics for our recruiting pipeline, providing regular reporting to leadership

  • Help identify areas for improvement in our recruiting process and implement solutions

  • Support employer branding initiatives and represent Column at recruiting events

What you’ll need to be successful

  • You have 1-3 years of recruiting coordination experience, preferably in a high-growth technology company

  • You're a master of organization with exceptional attention to detail

  • You have experience with applicant tracking systems (we use Ashby)

  • You're known for your strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities effectively

  • You're proactive and can anticipate needs before they arise

  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and excited to build processes from the ground up

  • You love working with people and making processes move as smoothly as possible

What you'll get from us

  • 🏥 Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans, including options that are 100% covered by Column for you and 100% covered for your dependents!

  • 👶 Comprehensive family planning and fertility benefits via partnership with Carrot, including reimbursement of up to $20,000 in qualified expenses

  • 💳 FSA and HSA account options to enable use of pre-tax money for medical and dependent care expenses

  • 📈 401k plan, including self-directed brokerage options

  • 🌴 Flexible time-off policy - take the time off that you want and need to relax and recharge

  • 👶 100% paid parental leave, including 16 weeks for birth mothers, 12 weeks for primary caregivers, and 8 weeks for secondary caregivers

  • 🍽️ Catered lunches and dinners for SF employees

  • 🚆 Commuter benefits

  • 🎉 Regular team building events, including annual offsite

Pay transparency

Compensation packages at Column include base salary, equity, and benefits. New hire offers are made based on a candidate's experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 + equity.

We look forward to hearing from you
