Role: Safety Manager

Role: Bakersfield, CA

Duration: Permanent

Salary: $25-$30/hour

As an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Specialist in the oil industry, your primary responsibility is to ensure the well-being of employees, the community, and the environment. With a strong background in occupational health and safety regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation, you play a crucial role in developing and implementing safety procedures to prevent accidents and protect workers from potential hazards. Your expertise in conducting safety audits, training programs, and emergency response planning is instrumental in maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Job Duties:

• Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in
• compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and
• recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Provide training to employees on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and
• environmental awareness to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and environmental spills to determine root causes
• and develop strategies to prevent reoccurrence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HSE considerations are integrated
• into all aspects of operations, projects, and decision-making processes.
• Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to continuously
• improve HSE performance and drive a sustainable safety culture within the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental compliance
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and industry best practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to conduct safety training sessions and inspections
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and safety management software
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel to various work sites as needed
