Job Description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a dynamic and growing real estate management team based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a well-established firm with an expanding portfolio of properties. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in preparing financial statements and supporting day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly work papers, financial statements, and management reports.
Process journal entries, and financial transactions, and perform bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate account balances.
Review and analyze general ledger accounts, addressing any reconciling items or accounting issues promptly.
Verify invoices and expenditures daily, ensuring proper classification and recording of all expenses according to set guidelines.
Review tenant security deposits upon move-out, ensuring accurate refunds.
Assist in preparing the annual property budgets.
Close books at year-end and assist in preparing year-end schedules.
On-the-job trainingis provided for all systems and processes.
Q
ualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Outlook.
CPA track is a plus.
Experience with MRI, Nexus Systems, and IBS is a plus.
Must complete an assessment to be considered for the position.
