Job Description

Under the supervision of the Treatment Court Supervisor and Director, the Probation Officer/case manager will supervise and broker offenders referred to the Treatment Court caseload. The Officer will be responsible for service delivery to high and medium risk offenders who have been identified as appropriate for the Treatment Court; within departmental and statutory guidelines designed to enhance public safety. The Officer will be responsible for the achievement of departmental objectives, as well as ensuring high quality and cost-effective service delivery systems. The Officer performs special projects as directed by the Treatment Court Director and team.

• Monitors the conditions of probation as set forth by the 23rd Judicial Court and report any violations to the State's Attorney's Office.
• Supervise and counsel defendants placed under his/her supervision in order to achieve successful completion of court ordered terms.
• Prepare and coordinates all information relative to the defendants case in order to provide factual information in a timely and accurate manner for the court when called upon to testify.
• Maintains face-to-face contact at an enhanced supervision level established by the completion of the Risk/Need tools and the identified needs of the defendant.
• Maintains an accurate and timely historical record of all information related to probation cases under his/her supervision.
• Refers defendants to community social service agencies and advocates for necessary services from the agencies.
• Refers, in a timely and appropriate manner, all appropriate cases to community agencies and monitors progress through regular contact with said agency.
• Submits accurately documented weekly activity reports/monthly statistical reports to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Work closely with Drug Court Court Team to appropriately report progress or lack thereof, and delivers sanctions and incentives as dictated by the Drug Court Court Team.
• Develops and maintains positive working relationships with allied agencies and other interested groups within the community.
• Assesses on a continuous basis methods to improve service delivery.
• Utilize the Effective Case Works model (ECW) in working with defendants.
• Will attend meetings, court, staffings and home visits as ordered by the court and/or management.
• Adhere to all Court Services policy and procedures.
• Completes other job-related tasks as directed by the Drug Court Director.
• Availability for a changing schedule, including some night and weekend hours.
