BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o 5+ years of experience in design or manufacturing engineering in Aerospace (Client exp. preferred).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client is recruiting an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join the Production Engineering organization supporting the 787 Program.
An organization of over 3,000 employees, supports all aspects of Client Commercial Airplanes from product conception to customer support. PE designs, deploys, operates and maintains the production system that enables the build of the airplanes for The Client.
PE is the hub of all activity within Client as we coordinate with everyone who has anything to do with the airplane including design, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. We also establish common processes, standards and procedures that the company uses to comply with government, regulatory and competitive obligations.
o Develops and implements integrated section and plans to ensure build statement of work, technical and customer requirements are achieved using Client Policies, procedures and best practices.
o Assists throughout the value stream to enhance build plan performance and assists first-level managers and others within the team to provide Customer Delight.
o Interrogates, interprets and communicates Engineering intent and able to provide detailed engineering intent and analysis.
o Provides on-going build plan feedback between the factory and the customer reps.
o Exhibits, and builds a team culture focused on the Client Values, working within the framework of One BPS to track and maintain customer satisfaction while improving skills and motivating the workforce.
o Provides input on the improvement of team business, KPIs and technical requirements, goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with the FSCC and MBU.
o Establishes partnerships and relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.
o Integrate in the larger Engineering organization and function as a part of a high performing team.
o Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.
o Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
o Be flexible & adaptable in a diverse & demanding environment and work schedule.
o Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor.
o Able to support ME activities in Velocity and CMES environment.
o The ability to interpret data and make recommendations for possible solutions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
